Many professional gamers use youtube or live-streaming websites such as twitch to supplement their cash inflow. Since many usually have viewers from their fans from their eSports careers they have an easy time getting set up and providing entertainment to any who would want to see it. It is also easier for them to make a living this way because these scenes are far less competitive and as long as they are getting views they are definitely going to be paid. it is therefore understandable why many new people who want to get into professional gaming try and start out as youtubers or live-streamers.
